Shu-Hwa Chih is an associate professor of the Department of Business Administration, Soochow University, Taiwan. Dr. Chih graduated from the National Chengchi University with a Ph.D. in Money and Banking, and worked at HSBC. She has participated in nearly 17 projects at the Taiwan Academic of Banking and Finance (TABF), serving as a co-principal investigator and sub-principal investigator. With experience of working in a foreign bank, she incorporates theory and financial practice alongside the latest news and cases. The teaching style follows a philosophy that favors easy-to-understand and interactive guidance, using vernacular language. This enables students to fully comprehend and internalize the course material of their own language, and then cultivate the ability to think logically and solve problems in the future. In the field of counselling, Soochow University nominated her for the Ministry of Education's 2022 Friendly Campus Award for the "Outstanding Mentor Award." She also received the 109 academic year “Excellent Mentor Award”, as well as the 107 academic year and 108 academic year "Enthusiastic Mentor Award”. In addition, she served as the instructor for the college student research project of the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) in the academic years 107/108 and 110-112. In addition to supervising students' research, she has also guided students in taking part in competitions related to ESG and FinTech. They received the honor of winning first place in the country and the North District Excellence that qualified for the national finals, accompanied by several awards. She has also served as the introducer of finance lectures, and has been invited to give many talks and exchange opinions and ideas with experts from the industry. The primary research areas are ESG and sustainable finance, financial regulation, banking efficiency and risk, and has published several academic papers in both domestic and international journals. She also serves as a reviewer for academic journals to enhance her research capacity. Her research philosophy aims to solve the problems of financial practice with a systematic and logical academic approach, thereby enhancing the discoverability and imagination of academic research.
